Yes - A visa is required for travel to Indonesia

A valid passport and visa are required for enrolled study in Indonesia.

Travelers going to Indonesia for a period of greater than 60 day for short courses or training, non-research study, non-paid arts or sports performances/competition, or a family visit, will receive a socio-cultural visa.

Passport Requirements:

Original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay; for multiple entries the passport must be valid at least 18 months from date of entry into Indonesia. The passport must have at least one blank passport page available for visa stamp(s). Amendment pages in the back of the passport are not suitable for visa stamps.
New York: The passport must have four blank passport pages.

Indonesia Visa Application Form:

The Consulate of Indonesia requires a visa application form that is completed online. To access the form follow the link: Online application form

Your application must: • Display your name exactly as it appears in your passport
• Include answers for all fields
• Be signed by applicant
• Uploaded a photo to your online application. This photograph must match the photo you provided with documentation sent to us.

NOTE: Print the confirmation page and submit with all other visa application documents. Applications that do not include this online visa application confirmation will be rejected by the consulate.

Photo Requirements:

Two recent, identical 2 x 2 passport type photographs, in color, front view and with a plain/white background.
Los Angeles: No glasses may be worn in the photos, and one passport photo must be scanned in order to complete the on-line Indonesian application form.

Letter Of Invitation:

Letter from school/university, social organization or family in Indonesia, which describes the purpose of the visit and guaranteeing all transportation and living expenses that will incur during stay.

In addition, a copy of the K.T.P (Indonesian ID Card) or of the principal/person who signed the Letter of Invitation if the person is an Indonesian citizen, or copy of KIMS/KITAS (Indonesian Immigration’s temporary stay permit) of the principal/person who is a non-Indonesian citizen that sponsoring your visit, or Identification Card for Foreigner.

Proof of State Residency:

Chicago, Houston and San Francisco: A copy of applicant driver's license. Please enlarge for clarity. Address on driver's license must match address on visa application form.

Proof of Travel Arrangements:

Computer generated flight itinerary from the airline or a travel agency or copy of airline ticket showing entry and departure from Indonesia.

Applicants Under the Age of 18:

Applicants under 18 years of age should attach a notarized copy of birth certificate. In addition, a notarized letter of consent signed by non-traveling legal guardian must be attached if the applicant under 18 years of age travels without the legal guardian.

Medical Requirements:

Inoculation is recommended but not mandatory, and is required only if applicant had previously traveled to areas/countries infected by yellow fever.

Proof of Sufficient Funds:

Los Angeles: include a copy of your most recent bank statement showing the available minimum balance of USD $1,500.00
